Review: Tony and Susan Alamo were evangelists who used to work the Hippie community, promising salvation for all. Things took a very dark turn when Susan Alamo, who used to fake cancer diagnoses for money, contracted the disease in real life and died. Tony's procurement of underage girls as wives began thereafter.

This standard, basic cable-type episode is good enough, with cult survivor Kolbek's story packing a huge emotional punch. Her tour of the outside of a house where she escaped from years before is hard-hitting, as is the fact that the Alamos are not as well-known as other cult leaders or swindlers. As of this writing, a website devoted to the Alamos is still up with video, audio, and reading material. I would like to have seen more about their beliefs and what clasified them as a cult, but this is a good introduction to their crimes.
